With 4.5 mm circular needle, cast on 5 stitches.
1 – knit to last stitch, kfb
2 – k1, yo, knit to end
3 – knit to last stitch, kfb
4 – k1, yo,knit to last 2 stitches, k2tog
5 – knit to last stitch, kfb
6 – k1, yo, knit to end
7 - knit to last stitch, kfb
8 - k1, yo, knit to last 2 stitches, k2tog
9 – knit to last stitch, kfb

You are using a fingering weight yarn and a circular needle but knitting just back and forth, to allow for the large number of stitches you will have at the end.
Continue with these 40 rows until you have just enough yarn left for your bind off (for whatever bind off you choose (approx. 4 times the width of your last row).
This pattern uses 3 of the 50 gram mini skeins, approx. 540 yards in total of fingering weight yarn..
You may knit it in solid blocks, or if you want to blend the colour change, knit 2 of each skein together for
4 or 5 rows until the first colour has run out, and you are now knitting the second colour on its own.
Do the same for the third colour.
